Presentation of the ARACNE project at the Jangsu University of Science and Technology (China)

The “Belt and Road” International Training Program on Sericultural Technology Innovation is organized by Jiangsu University of Science and Technology (JUST) in cooperation with the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China and supported by the International Silk Union (ISU). The program focuses on modern sericulture, silkworm rearing, mulberry cultivation, silk processing, sustainability, innovation, and international cooperation in the silk sector.

This year, 14 participants from countries including Cuba, Pakistan, Uzbekistan, the Philippines, Greece, and Vietnam are taking part in the training program in Zhenjiang, China.

During the program, participants attended lectures, seminars, laboratory sessions, practical training, and field visits related to mulberry cultivation, silkworm rearing, disease prevention, cocoon harvesting, silk reeling, eco-friendly dyeing technologies, smart environment control systems, biotechnology applications, and sustainable development models for the global silk industry.

On 28th May, Dr. Ioannis Tsiakiris, from the Art of the Silk Museum, Associated partner, presented the concept and results of the ARACNE project in front of an international public of sericulturists at the Belt and Road international training programme on sericulture technology innovation
