The lecture cycle held on the occasion of the exhibition entitled “Famous personalities from the Venetian territory: From Marco Polo to Prospero Alpini. A journey to the East to Discover the Silk and Coffee Routes” continues in the city of Marostica. On Saturday, November 16, the presentation of the book “Silk at the foot hill of the Veneto Region” will take place at the Palazzo Doglione. The Aracne partnership has made a significant contribution to the publication of this book, having authored three of its chapters. The contributions were made by Prof. Francesco Vianello of the DiSSGeA of the University of Padua, the entrepreneur Giampietro Zonta, and the CREA researcher Dr. Gianni Fila. In particular, D’orica’s contribution, in a text that recounts the history of the Marostica area and of the Venetians who made their homeland famous, is intended to be a contemporary reading of a continuous history of research and exploration, interpreted by our ancestors and continued today with the same enthusiasm by the composite team of the Aracne project. Based on the rediscovery of a millenary tradition of exchange between East and West, D’orica aims to initiate a new trajectory for the production of silk and gold jewellery that integrates art, territory, history and agricultural and artisan expertise, thereby inaugurating a new renaissance that prioritises the role of humanity in productive and economic processes.
