The Gallarate Society of Local Studies and the farm Mooroon, under the patronage of the City of Gallarate and CREA, and in collaboration with the Lead partner of the European project Aracne, are organising a conference on silkworm rearing in the area. The conference will touch on aspects of economic history, landscape, and current initiatives, through the description of the objectives and activities of the European project Aracne for the creation of a cultural itinerary on sericulture in Italy and Europe. The testimony of the Mooroon farm, which aims to make silkworms a modern economic activity in the area, will also be crucial. Live silkworms will be on display at the conference and a reeling test will be available.
