Silk protagonist of a conference at the Verona textile festival

Conference on the ‘Gelseta’ project: silk in the Verona area

The ‘Ad Maiora’ association is organising this year’s Verona Tessile festival once again. The festival is dedicated to artistic expression through textiles. This unique international biennial event is a reference point for lovers of patchwork, sewing and textile art in Italy. Admission to almost all exhibitions is free, and the event is organised in collaboration with the Province of Verona and the Cultural Department of the Municipality of Verona. It is also sponsored by the Veneto Region and USSL9 Scaligera.
The festival takes place across the city, with previous editions featuring exhibitions in prestigious venues such as the Palazzo della Gran Guardia, the Museo degli Affreschi G.B. Cavalcaselle, the Natural History Museum, the Church of San Pietro Martire, the Civic Library and the Palazzo dei Mutilati.
The Natural History Museum will host a conference on silk with a talk on the Veneto sericulture law and the new Morus Up project, featuring the CREA Agriculture and Environment sericulture laboratory.

This conference forms part of the ‘Gelseta’ project, which is financed by the Cariverona Foundation and promoted by the University of Verona. However, this conference also provides an opportunity to promote the European project Aracne and to raise awareness among the general public and to carry out a policy action towards some sector stakeholders.
