The Instituto Murciano de Investigación y Desarrollo Agrario y Medioambiental (IMIDA) hosts a public event on 13 March 2026 to present the project results and the new publication, featuring contributions from researchers, museum specialists, and heritage experts. The programme includes presentations on IMIDA’s scientific work, the development of digital tools, the historical significance of sericulture in Murcia, and the cultural impact of recent exhibitions.

IMIDA presents the key outcomes of the European project ARACNE (Horizon‑CL2‑2022‑HERITAGE‑01‑02 – GA 101095188), showcasing a wide range of activities and digital tools that recover, disseminate, and enhance the remarkable sericultural heritage of the Region of Murcia and Europe.

A central highlight is the publication of the new volume “Photographic Collection of the Historical Archives of the Sericulture Station of Murcia (1892–1976)”, which emerges from the recovery and digitisation of valuable audiovisual material documenting Murcia’s historic silk culture.

The project generates a variety of open‑access resources — digitised documents, audiovisual archives, inventories of historical sericultural equipment, 3D virtual tours, interactive maps, and scientific data on mulberry and silkworm genetics. These resources are available free of charge to researchers, farmers, heritage professionals, and the public via:
