On 16 April, Prato will host a day-long conference on Italian fashion at the intersection of agriculture, research, innovation and sustainability; the meeting bringing together institutions, companies, researchers and many young people from fashion and agricultural schools has the purpose to discuss the needs of tomorrow’s Italian fashion, from the field to the catwalk. Tommaso Foti, Minister for European Affairs, Cohesion Policy and the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP) – MEF, and Patrizio la Pietra, Undersecretary of MASAF, will be among those attending. The programme includes a panel discussion entitled ‘At the roots of fashion: research in agriculture’, where researchers will illustrate the state of the art in natural fibres. Among the other invited CREA researchers, Silvia Cappellozza will present the European situation with regard to silk, based on her experience with the Horizon Europe project Aracne, of which CREA is the lead partner.
